Towson University Science Complex


The new 320,000 square-foot complex will include fifty teaching laboratories, thirty research laboratories, fifty classrooms, ten collaborative student spaces and eight lecture halls. The new science building will replace the aging Smith Hall, which opened in the mid-1960’s.

Scope of Work:

Kim Engineering provided  the material testing services including: field density testing of backfill, soil laboratory testing, fireproofing testing, reinforced masonry inspections, floor flatness testing, grout testing, mortar sampling and testing, on-site testing of concrete including slump, temperature, and concrete cylinders, structural steel inspections, asphalt testing, and laboratory testing.
